Patchell Resigns from Cecil County Council

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 Cecil County, MD – Effective 10/17/2021, George Patchell will resign from his position as Councilor for Cecil County District 04 to assume a new post as Administrator for the Town of Perryville.

 Per the language of the Cecil County Charter, the responsibility for filling this vacancy falls to the Cecil County Republican Central Committee. We will be holding interviews before submitting a list of nominations to the County Council by 11/16/2021.

Any registered Republicans living within the district who are interested in assuming the position abdicated by Mr. Patchell may request to be interviewed by the Committee at info@cecilgop.org by Friday 10/22/2021.

While not required, we would ask that those interested please include a cover letter detailing their credentials and a statement why they wish to serve on the County Council and be a good fit along with their contact information. The Committee will schedule a time and place for the interview.

We would like to wish Mr. Patchell well in his new role and we look forward to working with the County Council on bringing up Cecil County’s next great representative.
